Social commitment

We are committed to social projects on both a local and an international level.

As a family-friendly company, we are particularly passionate about providing support for children and young people.

Support for bright minds through Mathematikolympiade in Berlin e.V.

The Mathematics Olympiad, one of the largest mathematics and science competitions for schoolchildren in Germany, takes place annually in several rounds. The students work on mathematical tasks in written form and compete in the Olympiad first in the School Olympiad, then in the District Competition, before going on to the State Olympiad and finally the German Olympiad. The national round of the 60th Mathematics Olympiad in Berlin, scheduled for 2021, is expected to be decentralized. The association hopes to host the mathematical student talents in 2023. Projektron will continue to support this commitment in 2020 with a donation.

The Cranes Montessori Nature School

The nature school links the learning spaces "group room" and "forest", so that children learn with the example of nature, in community and to a high degree self-determined. In the outdoor area and in the forest, the children can research, observe, discover biodiversity, move more and train their senses. A school garden, insect hotel, weather station, climbing trees, a permanent fireplace offer many opportunities. In addition, there are excursions and nature-related sports such as climbing, canoeing, hiking and horseback riding. Through experiences in nature education, the promotion of creativity and social skills, and the practice of democratic co-determination in school design, the children are prepared to solve problems and always learn something new. After a long journey by the parent initiative from the community at Mellensee in 2016, through the start of the nature school with 10 children in 2020, everyone is very excited to move into their own historic building in Rehagen at the beginning of 2021: a former village school is being revived. Projektron supports the school in 2020 with a donation.

Celebrating Christmas at Die Arche Friedrichshain

In 2019, Projektron supported the children's project Die Arche for the third time - this time for a Christmas gift drive with a Christmas party for the children in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The surprises were unwrapped with great joy. It is very close to the heart of the team of Die Arche to show appreciation and attention to the children, to accompany them on their way and to support them according to their individual abilities.

JUXIRKUS: Imagination, movement, sense of community

Since the JUXIRKUS was founded in 1988 in Berlin-Schöneberg, it has given many children and young people a "second home". Five days a week, 150 children and young people currently train in the circus tent. Twice a year - in summer and winter - there is a premiere and several subsequent performances in their own tent and at festivals in and around Berlin. The sponsoring association supports this, for example, with training materials or to enable children to take part in the annual autumn trip. In the JUXIRKUS, learning is seen as an active process in which one's own activities play an important role. Children and young people learn with and from each other. Mutual trust and acceptance is the basis and also creates a sense of community. Social learning processes are given plenty of space and time. Projektron supported the JUXIRKUS 2019 with a donation.

Kiez-Kids-Klub K3 in Moabit makes children fit for the future

At the Kiez-Kids-Klub K3, young people and children from the age of nine can take advantage of after-school homework help, participate in projects and workshops on topics from political and cultural education, and let off steam playing table tennis and foosball. At the weekly rap project in the recording studio, those interested practice writing lyrics and record songs. Currently, young people are renovating and designing two of the club's rooms according to their own ideas and are planning an opening party. Everyone gets a hot lunch, which the children can prepare themselves during the vacations. By participating in and organizing various district-wide festivals, the K3 Kiez-Kids-Klub is well networked and popular with children and young people. Projektron supported the club with a donation in 2019.

60th Math Olympiad in Berlin: Support for clever minds

The Mathematics Olympiad is one of the largest mathematics and science competitions for schoolchildren in Germany and is held annually in several rounds. Centrally provided mathematical tasks are worked on in the form of written exams. The Olympiad is divided into four rounds: 1st School Olympiad with around 200,000 participants, 2nd District Olympiad, 3rd State Olympiad and 4th German Olympiad. The best in each case qualify for the next higher round. The association Mathematikolympiaden in Berlin e.V. has long been responsible for organizing the 3rd round of the Mathematics Olympiad in Berlin. For 2021, it is organizing the national round of the 60th Mathematics Olympiad, which this time will take place in Berlin from June 13 to 16. Projektron supported the association with a donation in 2019.

brotZeit e.V.: What a breakfast does

The brotZeit association has been helping children since 2009 with something they take for granted - breakfast. According to a recent Allensbach study, one in ten children in Germany comes to class hungry. In the hotspot schools where brotZeit is active, the number is significantly higher. The association feeds more than 10,600 children at 225 schools throughout Germany every day and has already distributed 8.6 million breakfasts. Around 1,300 senior volunteers look after the elementary and special needs students. They not only prepare the buffet, but are also contact persons, mediators and substitute grandparents all in one. According to surveys among the school principals concerned, the performance and social behavior of the students improve significantly when they can eat a balanced breakfast together in the morning while being lovingly looked after. (Figures as of November 2019). Projektron supported the association with a donation in 2019.

Hamburg and Berlin with "Die Arche" – Trampoline jumping and boulder climbing to your heart’s content

2017 marked the second year that Projektron supported the “Die Arche – Christliches Kinder und Jugendwerk e. V.” children’s welfare organization in implementing a wide variety of meaningful recreational activities for children from underprivileged families. In Hamburg, “Die Arche Friedrichshain” organized a camp for teenagers. 15 participants came together to explore the topic of identity and enjoy a great time at the JUMP House. In Berlin, 27 children visited an indoor climbing gym to test their boulder climbing skills. Since it is an established fact that children are much better at climbing, they didn’t really have a hard time mastering the various climbing routes. All in all, the two wonderful activities held a lot of fun and joy for the children and teenagers involved.

Exhibition project: I AM DATA

The I AM DATA exhibition project organized by Master’s students in the "Museum and Exhibition" program at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg focused on the ubiquity of data. Divided into eleven topic areas and focusing on issues relating to increasing connectivity and faster communication, the exhibition explored the influence that data has on our daily lives, human beings in general and their perception of their environment. One of the highlights of the exhibition was that the students succeeded in visualizing the immense flood of data that generally eludes our grasp, giving bits and bytes a face. Projektron was one of the sponsors of the exhibition project held in spring 2017.

Recreational activities in Saxon Switzerland and Berlin – Fall break with the “Die Arche” children’s project

"Die Arche – Christliches Kinder- und Jugendwerk e. V." offers varied and exciting recreational activities for children from underprivileged families. Projektron supported two of these activities in October 2016. During a fall camp in Saxon Switzerland, 18 teenagers from "Die Arche Friedrichshain" and "Die Arche Reinickendorf" in Berlin participated in an outdoor educational activity at a ropes course. In another activity, 30 children from Berlin enjoyed an autumn walk before stopping off at a bowling alley. These two splendid holiday activities gave the children and youths plenty of opportunity to test their courage and let off some steam.
