Projektron wins the Climate Mobility Challenge 2024: A success for sustainable corporate mobility

The Climate Mobility Challenge 2024 once again presented forward-looking mobility concepts that promote change towards more sustainability in everyday business life through innovative ideas and clear implementation strategies. At the bahn.business 360° Summit, Projektron received an award in the “Medium-sized Companies” category for its integrated mobility strategy, in recognition of its successful combination of climate protection and employee mobility.

Sustainable mobility as a corporate strategy at Projektron

For Projektron GmbH, sustainable mobility is not just a buzzword, but a central component of the corporate strategy. The concept includes a wide range of measures that make commuting and business travel more environmentally friendly. From the choice of office locations to incentives for greener transportation, Projektron offers its employees well-thought-out mobility options that are environmentally friendly, healthy and efficient.

Overview of the award-winning measures

1. Promoting bicycle traffic

  • Secure parking: Projektron provides secure bicycle storage for cyclists, protecting against theft and the weather.
  • Shower and changing facilities: The office space is designed to make it easier to cover longer distances by bike.
  • Regular bike check: A free service offered to employees once a year for professional bike maintenance.
  • Company bikes and JobRad leasing: The JobRad leasing program and company-owned bikes give employees the opportunity to use a bike at a low cost and thus reduce CO₂ emissions.

2. Support for public transport

  • BVG company ticket: A subsidized company ticket for Berlin's public transport system that offers employees affordable and environmentally friendly mobility.
  • Optimally located office locations: The conscious choice of office locations with good transport connections promotes the use of public transport and bicycles.

3. Environmentally friendly business trips

  • BahnCard for business trips: Projektron relies on the train as a climate-friendly alternative for business trips and offers a BahnCard for this purpose.
  • CO₂ compensation for unavoidable flights: If a flight abroad is necessary, Projektron compensates for the CO₂ emissions by donating to reforestation projects.

4. Environmentally friendly procurement: Projects and the purchases necessary for daily business operations are planned in such a way that materials and providers with short transport routes and environmentally friendly criteria are selected.

5. Sustainability management with Projektron BCS: The company's own software Projektron BCS also supports the company internally in sustainability management and makes it possible to continuously monitor and adjust environmental goals.

The Climate Mobility Challenge and bahn.business 360° Summit

Projektron's award at the Climate Mobility Challenge 2024 took place during the bahn.business 360° Summit, an industry get-together where leading companies presented sustainable best practices in the field of mobility. The event took place in the climate-neutral location Smartvillage in Munich and offered a platform for lectures, discussions and networking in addition to the award ceremony. Meteorologist and ARD moderator Thomas Ranft opened the day with a keynote speech that emphasized the urgency of climate change and the responsibility of the economy.

Together with companies such as WeiberWirtschaft eG, Drees & Sommer and Capgemini, Projektron was honored for its concept. We are pleased about this recognition and see it as motivation to further expand our measures and continue to set impulses for climate-friendly mobility in the future.

Future-oriented mobility at Projektron

The Climate Mobility Challenge 2024 has once again shown that future-proof mobility is possible through active engagement and a willingness to change. At Projektron, we continue to pursue a sustainable and innovative mobility strategy and look forward to serving as a role model for environmentally friendly mobility in a corporate context.

Statement by Lucas Artaza, Environmental Officer at Projektron GmbH

“Winning the Climate Mobility Challenge 2024 award is a great honor for us and at the same time an acknowledgement of our continuous efforts to achieve climate-friendly corporate mobility. In addition to promoting climate-friendly mobility, we place a high value on a comprehensive sustainable orientation of our company. This includes, among other things, the use of green electricity at our office locations, the reduction of paper consumption through digital processes and environmentally conscious procurement.

Our mobility measures are part of a larger whole: they complement our efforts to conserve resources and contribute to climate protection. The award motivates us to further expand our commitment and develop innovative ideas for climate-friendly mobility. The future needs companies that practice sustainability not just on paper – and we are proud to lead by example.”
