AWIGO Abfallwirtschaft Landkreis Osnabrück GmbH has been responsible for waste management in the district of Osnabrück since 2002. It now employs around 380 people.
As an indirectly wholly-owned subsidiary of the district of Osnabrück, AWIGO is the central point of contact for waste and recyclables management in the region. AWIGO takes care of the environmentally sound waste prevention, disposal and recycling of around 360,000 inhabitants in the 21 towns and municipalities of the Osnabrück district as well as numerous commercial enterprises.
