BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH is a professional service provider for e-learning in educational organizations, companies and public institutions. We provide professional services and modern software applications to support educational, communication and organizational processes. Projektron BCS supports us not only in employee management, but also in the planning and coordination of our customer projects.
Support educational, communication and organizational processes
BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH is a company of Saxon universities. We provide our customers with professional services and modern software applications to support existing educational, communication and organisational processes. To this end, we draw on a wide range of services and software applications, preferably from the open source sector. Based on sound expertise in the areas of IT management, change management and project management, we develop customised and needs-based e-learning solutions for our clients. We see ourselves as a centre for skills development, knowledge transfer and the coordination of the use of digital media in education.
BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH was founded on 9 November 2004 by 11 Saxon universities. The aim of the foundation was and is to support the universities and universities of applied sciences in the Free State of Saxony in the use of new media in everyday university life. We act as a central e-learning service provider for 14 Saxon universities and other customers in Germany and abroad. BPS GmbH operates with a strong service orientation and realises a wide range of services, from consulting and conception, hosting and application development to training and support. In addition, we participate as a partner in a wide range of research projects in the field of e-learning.
Our company employs staff from the fields of business informatics, computer science, economics and social sciences. Organised into six specialist departments, we do everything we can to incorporate our in-depth knowledge of IT management, change management and project management into our daily work in order to offer our customers the best possible tool support. Freelancers from the fields of media design and German studies as well as dedicated interns and student assistants at Saxon universities actively support us in this endeavour.
BCS convinces through function and depth
The growing number of employees and projects prompted BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH to look for a professional management system that would enable us to manage projects effectively and optimise employee administration.
After evaluating several competing products, we finally decided in favour of Projektron BCS in March 2009. The range of functions, centralised availability and wide-ranging application options were decisive arguments for taking this step.
Project management with BCS and so much more
Projektron BCS is used at BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH primarily in the areas of employee administration, time recording and the planning and coordination of our projects, including the preparation of quotations for customers. The close interaction between project and resource planning optimises and simplifies a large number of work processes. The resulting time expenditure of each employee provides information about further necessary steps and resources.
Projektron BCS offers employees a simple yet comprehensive input interface adapted to their needs for recording time expenditure and, thanks to the uncomplicated handling of time booking and holiday management, allows them to quickly refocus on their actual day-to-day business.
Projektron BCS is also used intensively for project management and the administration of customer data. It provides an overview of all current and planned projects and ensures that each project runs smoothly.
The positive impressions and experiences with Projektron BCS led us to discover and expand the use of additional functions such as quotation and invoice generation, more active and efficient management of our customer data and a more complex approach to possible direct customer mailings from within the system.
