Central, future-proof and flexible
Success story from Deleproject AG
We particularly appreciate the adaptability of Projektron BCS to our company. We were able to configure the software according to our wishes and define our own masks, fields and authorisations. This allowed us to tailor the software to our specific needs.
Deleproject - a Swiss engineering company
Deleproject AG is an engineering company for industrial automation solutions based in Uetendorf/Thun. We develop and implement software applications for process automation and production data management. We have over 40 years of experience in this field and offer our customers customised solutions from a single source. Our customers are well-known manufacturers from various industries such as food, chemical and pharmaceutical industry or special plant engineering. Our mission is to ensure the satisfaction of our users and provide them with the best automation and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions.
Our company was founded in 1979 and has been a pioneer in electronically controlled automation since its birth years. We have developed steadily and are proud of the long-standing loyalty of our customers, who appreciate our quality and reliability.
As automation engineers, the employees at Deleproject AG are responsible for the design, development and commissioning of automation solutions for our customers. We use the Projektron BCS software as a project management tool for all projects.
Software requirements for complex projects
As an industrial automation solutions company, we are constantly confronted with complex and demanding projects. We accompany our customers from the concept phase to commissioning and provide them with the best possible solution. In doing so, we have to consider and coordinate many factors such as deadlines, costs, quality and resources.
In 2013, the need arose for new project management software to handle our project work in a more optimised and professional manner.
Previously, we used our own software solution, but it no longer met our requirements and led the project managers to use their own Microsoft Excel solutions. This often led to problems such as lack of transparency, inconsistency or duplication.
We needed a central, future-proof and also flexible solution that would support us in all phases of project management and provide us with a better overview and higher quality. With BCS, we have now found a central solution that helps us manage our projects more efficiently.
Reasons for Projektron BCS
The first contact with BCS was at a trade fair when we were looking for a software solution for our project management. We looked at and compared various providers, but BCS appealed to us the most.
What convinced us were mainly the following points:
- BCS is a web-based software that is easy to use and configure:
We did not need any additional installations and could access it from anywhere. - BCS offers comprehensive functionality for all phases of project management:
From planning and execution to controlling and reporting. We were able to manage all our project data in one system and maintain an overview at all times. - BCS is flexible and adaptable to our individual requirements:
We were able to define our own masks, fields and authorisations and thus optimally adapt the software to our processes. - BCS is open and expandable:
We were able to incorporate our existing data stock into BCS and continue working without gaps. In addition, we could add further modules such as resource management or contract management at any time.
Project-oriented software introduction
We planned and implemented the introduction of BCS with internal resources in order to build up as much internal know-how as possible about the new software. We started with a project manager and administrator training, which was conducted by Projektron at our company location. Later, during the implementation and migration, Projektron supported us with specific questions and challenges.
We decided on a gradual introduction of BCS to test the potential of the new software and at the same time to introduce the staff to the new system. With a selected test project, we got to know the standard functions of BCS in everyday life.
With the knowledge gained, we defined the structures in the new BCS and migrated all customer addresses, project structures, orders, working hours and expenses to BCS. This allowed the users to be trained on a familiar data master.
Over the years, we have constantly introduced more functions to better exploit the potential of BCS. Important milestones were the introduction of quotation generation and invoicing, which greatly simplified our processes.
Use of BCS today
We currently use BCS for all our projects, from quoting to invoicing. We use the following main functions of BCS, among others:
Quotation creation: we can use BCS to quickly and easily create quotations for our clients by entering the relevant data such as service description, prices, conditions and attachments. We can email the quotes directly from BCS or export them as PDFs. We can also track the status of the quotations and follow up or change them if necessary.
Order management: When we receive an order, we can use BCS to turn it into a project and define all the necessary information such as project team, budget, deadlines and milestones.
Project execution: With BCS we can effectively plan and monitor our projects. In addition, employees can precisely book their working hours to projects and tasks. This also allows us to monitor project progress and take corrective action in case of deviations. We inform our clients with generated status and effort reports.
Invoicing: BCS allows us to invoice our services easily and correctly. We can create invoices based on fixed prices or expenses. BCS also supports the generation of the new Swiss QR invoices that our clients require.
Financial key figures: With BCS, we have an overview of our project portfolio at all times and can provide key figures relevant for accounting. We can also create and export individual reports.
BCS has changed our work positively and brought us many advantages:
- We have more transparency and control over our projects and can make faster and better decisions.
- We have more efficiency and quality in our project work and can deliver more output with fewer resources.
- We have eliminated manual processes and duplication, saving time and money.
Our suggestions are taken up and considered by Projektron. We have good contact with our Projektron contact person and can give feedback or make requests at any time. Projektron has helped us, for example, with the implementation of Swiss peculiarities in the invoicing area and offered us a suitable solution.
Conclusion and plans for the future
BCS has proven to be an extremely useful software for our company. The introduction of BCS has helped us to improve our project work and make it more effective.
Our employees are very satisfied with the software and enjoy using it. We have had a positive experience with BCS support and are also very satisfied with the sales, consulting and training.
Using BCS has also raised the profile of project management in our company and helped to ensure that projects are carried out more consistently and according to our processes. For other companies in our industry that are planning to implement a multi-project management tool, we would definitely recommend BCS. The software is very user-friendly and offers many useful features that help in planning, executing and controlling projects.
We plan to expand our use of BCS even further and look forward to taking advantage of the product management and multi-project management features. In particular, we would like to simplify the management of installations and continuous changes and better plan our resources. We also realised that we could use the ticketing features of BCS even more intensively. By using tickets, we can better manage our clients' requests and ensure that they are dealt with in a timely manner.
We are confident that we can become even more effective by using these features and look forward to implementing them in the future.
