User report from SiteOS
SiteOS AG, based in Munich, Germany, is a full-service IT provider. We deliver solutions and products for projects up to a total size of about 18 person-years. We work predominantly in the financial services, automotive, energy and public administration sectors. SiteOS has relied on Projektron BCS for project management since July 2010. This provides us with a tool that gives us a much better overview of the status and progress of all projects.
SiteOS was founded in Munich in 2000. We offer our customers customized systems for the implementation and optimization of business and communication processes. Our goal is to achieve significant added value for our customers - be it in terms of costs, quality or agility. To achieve this, we use open, standardized or individually developed components, depending on the task and requirements. Our individual solutions are almost always integrated into the existing IT landscape, which means that SiteOS software is always oriented towards the optimized business processes of our customers.
Our four most important business areas are: Software engineering and individual software development, implementation of web-based business processes, IT solutions for leasing and fleet management, and tools for participant and event management. Depending on the project environment, SiteOS takes over all activities necessary in the project, up to the provision of IT products as an industry solution. This includes: Analysis of the customer's requirements, consulting on possible solutions, selection and procurement of suitable IT products in software and hardware, implementation of individual components, integration, testing and introduction, up to operation including maintenance and support.
Why was an external project management tool necessary?
Professional project management requires professional IT support, such as that provided by Projektron. The systems used in the first few years did not support the project management processes established by SiteOS to the extent required.
Why we chose Projektron BCS
In 2009, we began to learn about project management systems through external training courses and workshops. Based on the experience of our employees from almost 10 years of project management, we developed an extensive catalog of criteria with which about 50 applications were evaluated. In a second step, we evaluated in detail the tools that scored best.
After extensive testing, we decided on Projektron BCS. Above all, the clear tree structure and the individually customizable user interface convinced us. So we had BCS installed in July 2010.
Projektron BCS in daily use for SiteOS
Today, Projektron BCS is used consistently at SiteOS, especially the functions for contact management, project planning, resource management, multi-project management, software development according to Scrum, time recording, project controlling incl. reporting, invoicing and the ticket system. By using Projektron BCS, we achieve a significantly increased transparency - on the one hand in time recording, but also in the controlling of individual projects. It is therefore not surprising that we at SiteOS value the controlling reports as a BCS feature the most.
We are very satisfied with Projektron's support. Suggestions from us have been accepted by Projektron, and on the other hand, we have already ordered quotes from Projektron for function extensions. Thanks to the introduction of Projektron BCS, our project management is much better supported by software than before.
